Sophia & Henery’s Colorful Indian-Inspired Wedding at Arbor Crest Winery in Spokane, WA

Arbor Crest Winery | Spokane, WA | May 17th, 2025

Some wedding days stay with you long after the last song plays, and Sophia and Henery’s wedding at Arbor Crest Winery is absolutely one of them. Set high above Spokane with sweeping vineyard views, their day was a stunning celebration filled with bold color, heartfelt moments, and meaningful Indian traditions woven beautifully throughout.

Getting ready was a beautiful and meaningful start to the wedding day. Sophia shared quiet, tender moments with her mother as she helped her into her dress, surrounded by thoughtfully chosen details. One of my favorite touches was the intricate henna on Sophia’s hands, a stunning reminder of the henna celebration the night before.

Henry’s getting-ready moments were filled with meaningful Indian wedding traditions. His father and brother-in-law helped him into his outfit, sharing such special moments together. His entire family then gathered to place his head wrap on his head, a powerful symbol of honor and respect. He completed his look with a sword, representing his role as a protector and leader.

Next came the first look, and it was nothing short of magical. We chose a quiet courtyard overlooking Spokane, creating the most beautiful backdrop for such a special moment. Their family watched from the getting-ready space above, allowing the couple to share an intimate, private first look while still being surrounded by so much love. And can we take a moment for Sophia’s veil? It moved so effortlessly in the breeze and added the dreamiest, most romantic touch.

One of my favorite moments from the wedding day happened right before the ceremony. Henry arrived in a pedicab surrounded by his family, but the bride’s family playfully blocked his way. In keeping with tradition, the groom had to “pay” the bride’s family before he could pass and continue on to marry Sophia. The entire moment was filled with laughter, smiles, and so much joy.

The ceremony took place at The Enchanted Forest at Arbor Crest and was filled with so many personal and meaningful moments. Sophia’s brother played the guitar while her sister-in-law sang for the processional, creating such a sweet and intimate atmosphere. A couple of Sophia’s friends served as the flower girls, adding an extra touch of joy.

Sophia was walked down the aisle by her parents, followed by a special moment when Henry’s sister led an Urdu prayer. Debbie Williams officiated the ceremony and did an absolutely beautiful job.

After their first kiss, the couple walked back down the aisle to celebrate. While the bubble guns didn’t quite work as planned, it was the perfect reminder that even when things don’t go exactly as expected, the day is still beautiful, because at the end of it all, you’re marrying the love of your life.

One of my favorite things we did at the reception was a photo moment that worked so well. We placed the bride and groom just outside of the reception space while the DJ announced that anyone who wanted a photo with them could come over. It kept everything organized, allowed everyone to get a picture, and made the whole process stress-free. After about 20 minutes, we moved into the grand entrance.

Later in the evening, after the cake cutting, first dance, and toasts, we gathered all the guests onto the dance floor with Sophia and Henry for a big group photo, such a fun way to capture everyone together before the night continued.

Sophia and Henry’s wedding day was a perfect blend of heartfelt moments, meaningful traditions, and joyful celebration. From start to finish, it was a day filled with love and intention. A special thank you to the incredible vendor team who made it all possible: Arbor Crest for the stunning venue, Daisies in May for the beautiful florals, Kevin Ryan for the amazing videography, and Complete Weddings for their seamless planning. It was truly an honor to capture such a special day.
